Shine Jefferson was inspired by the saying "Heavy is the head that wears the crown". As you can see in the painting, the crown is above the silhouette's eye. Shine painted this to help remind us to keep our eye on the prize and to stay motivated. This is the first of his paintings that has a hint of color. This silhouette is of whoever it needs to be just as the painting is wide open to who it needs to become. The painting is called "The Man in the Mirror" to remind us to continue to grow and to never take things or people for granted.
